Short Scale Surprise
I bought this guitar used from my local Sam Ash. Its brand new with a HSC. The kid who had purchased it before me had been the victim of a hit and run and needed money to have his car repaired (If this happens to be your guitar, please know it is in good hands and will be loved dearly but sorry I won't part ways with it).
These are made in Mexico but finished beautifully in lacquer. I build my own guitars using lacquer, so this made me thrilled to finally see production guitars being made with nitro again. Since the guitar is finished in nitro, the wood is allowed to breath more which gives the body to resonate more. There is a noticeable difference. The neck is a super comfy short scale with a slim c profile with thin vintage style frets. 7.25 radius completes the vintage feel. To add the cherry on top, the pickups are the same as the pickups found in the American vintage series Jaguars.
The only downside in purchasing this guitar, or its sister Fender Classic 60s Jazzmaster Lacquer Seafoam Green, is that they are made with the vintage style jazzmaster bridges which vibrate themselves apart and do not hold the strings in place if you happen to dig in with your picking hand like myself. I ordered a Staytrem bridge for this guitar in a 7.25 radius and now it plays perfectly. Be aware when purchasing one of these that YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE BRIDGE!!

Very good
playing wise, this guitar (with staytrem bridge and american trem unit) has no glaring flaws, a proper set up renders it downright difficult to detune, and my copy has no fret buzz. The real seller for this piece is of course the finish. If you are into guitars that looked relicd but want the wear to be honest, genuine, and personal, buy this. 3 months of ownership have granted more play wear than 3 years on my poly finished jag.
