Description

The G&L ASAT Bluesboy is a masterclass in blending vintage allure with modern versatility, capturing the heart of every guitarist from novice to seasoned. Designed by the legendary Leo Fender, this solid body electric guitar is a testament to timeless T-style guitars, yet it carves its own niche with a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover humbucker in the neck position, delivering a rich, warm tone that can seamlessly transition from smooth jazz to gritty blues. Its G&L MFD bridge pickup ensures you get that classic twang and sparkle, making it incredibly versatile.

Crafted with precision in Fullerton, California, the ASAT Bluesboy features a lightweight pine body known for its resonant tone and balanced sonic characteristics. The hard-rock maple neck, shaped in a comfortable Modern Classic profile, and a 9.5-inch-radius fingerboard offer superb playability, making it a joy to play for hours on end.

In this Facebook photo posted by Toner Guitar Repair, the guitar shop says, "Ben Gibbard's (Death Cab for Cutie) G&L ASAT Bluesboy sent to me for repair. Note the solitary volume control. Both pickup are on simultaneously at all times." The bridge pickup looks to be a black Seymour Duncan, and the neck pickup appears to be a humbucker.

In another photo showing the wiring, they write, "This is the original wiring for Gibbard's Bluesboy. A bit messy with big globs of solder. No insulation to prevent shorts. The pot was worn & needed replacement. Note that both pickups are wired directly to the volume pot. There is no switch between the pickups & no tone pot." (source Facebook post)
