Description

The Ibanez AFR4FMP Premium Affirma is a stunning evolution of the boutique bass concept, merging high-end craftsmanship with modern enhancements for today's discerning musician. Designed by Swiss luthier Rolf Spuler, this bass combines a compact, lightweight body with a striking flame maple and walnut top, offering both elegance and aural clarity. The 3-piece maple neck, reinforced with graphite rods and capped with an ebony fretboard, delivers exceptional stability and a bright, responsive tone.

At the heart of the AFR4FMP's versatile sound is the dynamic combination of the AeroSilk MR5 bridge with integrated piezo pickups and the Bartolini X44JX split single-coil pickup. This setup allows for a rich, acoustic double bass-like quality, enhanced by a 2-band EQ that lets you dial in the perfect tone for any performance. The AeroSilk MR5 bridge features individually isolated saddles for optimal vibration transfer and intonation adjustment, making it a dream for both studio and stage settings.

Whether you're laying down a smooth groove or delivering a punchy slap ensemble, the Ibanez AFR4FMP Premium Affirma ensures every note is precisely as you intended. With its half-neck-through construction, this bass enhances sustain and body resonance, offering a playing experience that's both intuitive and inspiring.

Bass Lab – Ibanez Affirma AFR4FMP | Bass Gear Magazine

bassgearmag.com

The Ibanez AFR4FMP Premium Affirma bass guitar makes a daring statement with its innovative design and versatile electronics, all while maintaining a budget-friendly price point. Its lightweight, ergonomic build and impressive tonal flexibility, courtesy of the Bartolini pickups and piezo system, make it a compelling choice for adventurous players. While its unique aesthetics and sound profile might not cater to traditionalists, it’s a refreshing option for those seeking a high-end feel without breaking the bank. A few quirks, such as the possibly unnecessary piezo, are minor compared to its overall value and craftsmanship.
