Fantastic Japanese 7 String Electric

The short, fast ibz neck is second to none for quick rhythmic metal progressions and like most other Japanese guitars from the fuji-gen factory, has a superior build quality and is an extremely playable workhorse. If the ax7221 was an ltd, this would be it's ESP equivalent. Or if the ax120 had an angry, metalcore big brother. Can be had online for an extremely fair price, anywhere from about $250-$500USD at any given time online in varying used conditions. I got mine like new for $229 plus thirty-something bucks for shipping.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

All knobs at 10, all the time. If you want to explore tunings below drop A, set it up with .72 gauge strings to compensate for the Gibson scale length, .65 7th is as small as I'd get, unless you planned to use drop A# or standard tunings, which would be the only case I'd ever recommend using the stock .59s. Loves slinkies and other machine wound, high tension strings, but can mellow out a bit with hand wound, less bright strings. Although it's primarily known as a nu-metal warrior, it would make an ideal 7 string jazz guitar. High output, bright sounding, perfectly usable stock pickups that don't require replacing.
