Ibanez Teams with Korg for the SR Kaoss Bass – No Treble

notreble.com

Ibanez's SRKP4 bass intrigues with its integration of Korg's Mini Kaoss Pad 2S, offering a playful touchpad effects interface. While the gadgetry adds exciting options like looping and distortion, some effects feel gimmicky in a live setting. The mahogany build and maple neck are solid but overshadowed by the bass's budget feel. With a $400 price tag, it’s a novel concept for tech-savvy bassists but might not satisfy purists or those seeking traditional sound quality. Overall, an innovative take that may not appeal to everyone.

Amazing instrument, very versatile

Build quality is solid and plays very well. The Kaoss Pad also has a myriad of effects which grants you endless fun and versatility. The variety of different sounds you can get out of this bass guitar is out of this world. (https://youtu.be/MN5cKvH1_YE this video is a great example) The clean sound isn't as thick as I'd prefer, but one of the effects (Dist. Isolater) can be used to turn it up to the point of house rattling! Built in distortion is a neat addition too, definitely not a gimmick imo. This is the perfect product for modern metal and Muse fans out there.

Good feel / size

Good feel and size. Pickups and build in distortion sound clean as well. The Built in Korg is a neat addition, especially for looping and delay without needing a slew of pedals. Its nice when I'm on the road and don't want to lug around both my KP3 and my bass.
