Critic Reviews

Ultex Jazz III Review by Jim Dunlop | Guitar Pick Zone

guitarpickzone.com

The Dunlop Ultex Jazz III 2.0mm picks are a durable option made from a sturdy Ultex material, offering a bright sound with a good grip due to raised logos. However, the picks can feel hollow, which may affect preference compared to Nylon or Tortex. They excel in lead guitar playing and produce pronounced notes on acoustic guitars. While the grip is decent, it may slip with sweaty hands. Despite some drawbacks, the Ultex Jazz III's overall sturdiness and sound make it a solid choice for many guitarists.

Underrated Jazz pick

I’ve been getting into heavier picks lately and I sometimes find even the normal Jazz IIIs a little too light for me. I love the Ultex Jazz IIIs and I’m happy a thicker one exists.

jimmarchi1

fat, small and pointy... like your head

These Dunlop picks are a great shape for playing Lee Ritenour type LA session Jazz. Guess that's why they are called Jazz picks.
