Description

The JOYO JF-05 Classic Chorus pedal has just that, the classic chorus sound that is heard on masses of recordings. The Classic Chorus, a modulation effect, can breathe life into slowly picked arpeggiated chords and add a whole new dimension to overdriven guitar parts as well. Make your 6 string guitar sound like a 12 string, use a lower setting with an acoustic and strum away with an all new perspective on your songs thanks to the JOYO Classic Chorus guitar effect pedal.

FAQs:

Is the Joyo Classic Chorus a good budget alternative to the Boss CE-2?
Yes. It delivers warm, lush analog-style tones similar to the iconic CE-2, making it a popular and affordable vintage-style chorus option.

Is it true bypass? Why does that matter?
Yes, it features true bypass. This preserves your guitar’s tone by preventing signal coloration when the pedal is off—important for clean signal chains.

What are the power requirements?
It runs on a standard 9V DC center-negative power supply or a 9V battery. Current draw is low (around 12mA), so it works well with most pedalboard setups.

Can it be used on bass guitar?
Yes, though it's voiced for guitar. Use moderate settings to avoid thinning out the bass's low end.

How does it sound compared to digital chorus pedals?
It offers smooth, warm, analog-style modulation, ideal for clean tones and subtle thickening. Digital choruses tend to sound more precise or clinical.

What controls does it have?
- Rate – Sets the speed of modulation
- Depth – Adjusts the intensity of the effect
- Level – Blends wet and dry signals

What’s the build quality like?
Solid metal housing provides good durability for the price. It’s not boutique-grade, but reliable for regular use.

Where can I buy it and how much does it cost?
Available at most online and local music gear stores. It typically retails for around $30–$50 USD.

Is it good for beginners?
Yes. Its simple controls, great tone, and low price make it an excellent first chorus pedal.

i love it

for a long time I became obsessed with the boss ce-1, and it was obvious that I would not find him, pass from that one and started looking for the ce-2 or one of his brothers, and in the search I found this, the replica of the ce 2, without thinking i for it i asked them to send it to me, has arrived yesterday, and I have not doubted at any time your purchase, it is the same, and I loved it.

Solid Boss Clone, say hello to the 80s

I believe it's a clone of the Boss CE-2. Simple and effective analogue pedal which works perfectly for producing the sounds of the cure, the police, depeche mode etc. Nothing amazing going on here, but half the price of it's Boss brother and with analogue circuitry and true bypass, this is as good as it gets for under <£50 to be honest.

Sweet sounding pedal, great value for the money too!

I bought this about 2 years ago on eBay for about £30, and it has served me well ever since! I would consider it to be up there with the likes of BOSS and other big pedal names. Its extremely sturdy too with its metal housing and well put together hardware. Really helps thicken up my bass sound on stage during standout parts.

Good value

I paid about $30 for this pedal with a cool custom finish the previous owner had done. It has a good range and can go from gently thickening up your tone to a more noticeable vibrato. Joyo pedals can be hit or miss but this is a good one. The metal casing is nice but it does come in a little big for my taste, especially for such a simple effect.

ayman_ibrahim

Good basic chorus pedal

This is as basic as it gets, it's a nice analogue chorus pedal, and at 25$ beats almost every brand out there. This quality is the same and better than most pedals out there for triple the price, if you don;'t decide to get a strymon or something similar, then this would';t hurt to experiment with at that price.

i use it for very basic chorus, as i am a very light chorus user, but it does the job.only gripe is there is a slight bump in volume once activated. but nothing harmful

marcelo_balza

Basic chorus and a sweet sound for only some coins.

Very nice chorus, only 25$ on ebay. Its a very nice pedal when it comes to create atmospheres with a light chorus. It beats a lot of chorus pedals of "well-known" brands. The only flaw is that it bumps up your volume but nothing serious.
