Critic Reviews

macprovideo.com

The Korg Kross 2-88 offers a robust workstation experience with an impressive sound library and natural-hammer weighted keys, ideal for both studio and live settings. Its user-friendly features, like an integrated audio interface and versatile sampling capabilities, add significant value. However, its size demands a protective case, and the lack of aftertouch may disappoint some pianists. While its build feels sturdy, musicians should be cautious of potential dings. Overall, the Kross 2-88 excels in functionality but comes with notable trade-offs that require consideration before purchase.

Korg Kross 2

soundonsound.com

The Korg Kross 2 is a capable entry-level workstation that balances affordability with solid sound quality, making it a significant upgrade over its predecessor. Its lightweight design and improved battery life are notable positives. However, it falls short with a dated small screen, lack of aftertouch, and limited onboard editing options, which may frustrate more serious users. While it offers a variety of sounds suitable for live performance and composition, it does lack some features found in pricier models. Overall, it’s a decent choice for those seeking a budget-friendly synthesizer workstation without high expectations.

Korg Kross 2 Review - The Ultimate Synth Workstation?

musictech.com

The Korg Kross 2 61 Key Synthesizer Workstation delivers a tantalizing blend of portability and power, boasting over 1,000 sounds and a robust sequencer that caters to both on-the-go composers and studio producers. Its lightweight design and battery operation make it a dream for gigging musicians. However, the lack of aftertouch and a somewhat dated interface may deter those accustomed to modern DAWs. Still, for its price point, the Kross 2 shines as an affordable, versatile option for anyone seeking a comprehensive workstation.

Great Workstation at this price range

Kross 2 is my go-to choice when I'm outside my home studio. It's super light (weighs somewhere near 3kg), it has a thousand of decent sounding presets, a sequencer and audio recorders, plus pads for small samples and step-sequencing. The keybed is good synth-action, and at this price range I find it unbeatable! I also saw guys programming sounds on it, with remarkable results, which is a great plus even if in my personal opinion it's rather designed for portability and sketching your ideas on the road. But that's just me, I know and saw guys making great tracks from scratch using just this beautiful workstation!
