Owner Insights

Setup and maintenance

  • Original PWF requires a 120v AC power supply, making it less convenient compared to modern pedals using standard 9v DC power.

    Source

Critic Reviews

Introduced in the 1970s, Morley’s PWF Power Wah Fuzz Pedal Was the Final Word in Unrelenting Fuzz-Wah Tone | GuitarPlayer

guitarplayer.com

The Morley PWF Power Wah Fuzz is a powerhouse of sonic intensity that delivers thick, aggressive fuzz with a unique wah effect, all while being built like a tank. Its innovative design—using a light-dependent resistor for control—minimizes mechanical wear, ensuring longevity. However, its reliance on a hard-wired power supply instead of a battery may deter some players looking for portability. While it excels in delivering a rich, raspy tone, the bulkiness and hefty price tag might not appeal to every musician. Overall, the PWF stands out as an iconic choice for those seeking a robust and versatile pedal, but it’s not without its trade-offs.

Cliff in a box

This is the one to get the Cliff Burton sound, used in combi with Boss CS-1 and Big Muff (Placed after the wah in the chain) Other chrome Morley's will also work, since you only have to use the wah section. (PWB,PWO etc) but I've found this one sounds the best. Modded this one with led indicators for the switches.
