A Look Back at the Rickenbacker 365: One of the Storied Company's Most Versatile and Toneful Creations | GuitarPlayer

guitarplayer.com

The Rickenbacker 365 is lauded for its versatility and classic appeal, making it a standout choice for everything from power chords to arpeggios. Its unique design features, such as the Accent vibrato tailpiece, add charm but can throw off tuning. Despite this, it's a valued lead guitar, offering a distinct jangle with depth thanks to its "toaster top" pickups and Rick-O-Sound wiring. However, its quirky electronics, including an enigmatic fifth knob, can be perplexing, requiring some modification for optimal sound. Overall, it's a stellar instrument cherished by iconic musicians for its singular tone and visual flair.
