"1966 Rickenbacker 370: a great guitar for power chords. If you plug this up into a Marshall Superlead stack or a Vox AC-30 you will be transported to a Who gig at Leeds Community College. The guitar is in its original mapleglo finish. The most interesting fact about the Rickenbacker guitar company is that they made the first electric guitar lap steel in the 1920?s and despite being associated with British acts in the 60?s the company is as American as apple pie," says Joe Bonamassa, on his website.
"Picciotto's main guitar when he fronted Rites of Spring, One Last Wish and in the first few years with Fugazi was a Mapleglo Rickenbacker 370. It eventually ended up in a state too fragile for live use, but he still used it in the studio right up to The Argument."
Laura uses a Rickenbacker 370, according to Guitar Geek. She says, "I really love my Rickenback 370! It has that shimmering shine that just sits on top of everything. I'm pretty sure I'll be buried with that thing."
Francis uses this guitar since the 2000s, debuting it in the recording and live shows of "La culpa", with Los Bunkers and since then it has been gradually present throughout his career; currently the guitar is at his residence in Mexico, he has used it, for example, at the Viña del Mar Festival in 2007, and in all of Los Bunkers' concerts in Mexico in 2023.
Mr. Crosby and Mr. Mcguinn acquired a pair of Rickenbacker 370s, a Jetglo 6 string and a Mapleglo 12 string in late ‘65 I believe. Both guitars are visible in pictures circa late ‘65 – early-mid ‘66.
Ángel Parra uses the Rickenbacker 370 12 string guitar with Los Tres during the "Revuelta" tour, as shown in the photo from the concert at Movistar arena in Santiago de chile in april 27 2024.
In the image attached, Mr. Kantner is seen playing a modified Rickenbacker 370 6-string. The original bridge single coil pickup is replaced with a Strat-ish one while the middle pickup looks stock and does not seem to have any changes to it. Since the electronics was resoldered to give a wider range of sounds, the guitar has an additional switch added and the original one displaced (instead there’s a 6th control knob).
According to Rick Resource, Ryan uses a Rickenbacker 370 in the Fireglo color. It is clearly visible in this Instagram post by Guster.
