Schiit Audio's Freya+ preamp and Bifrost 2 DAC form a dynamic duo, offering a compelling blend of value and performance. The Freya+ impresses with its versatile modes and whisper-quiet tube stage, though it does run hot, requiring ample ventilation. The Bifrost 2 DAC stands out for its sharp dynamics and rhythm, overshadowing even some built-in DACs. Together, they strike a balance, with the Freya+ softening harsh edges and the Bifrost 2 adding detail, making them a perfect pair for a cohesive hi-fi experience. Schiit continues to deliver excellent quality at an accessible price point.
