Description

Unleash a world of vocal creativity with the Sonic Charge Bitspeek, a revolutionary plugin that brings real-time pitch-excited linear prediction to your fingertips. This isn't just another vocal processing tool—it's a gateway to sounds that are both nostalgic and futuristic. Inspired by the voice compression technology of the seventies, Bitspeek harnesses the power of linear prediction, a technique hidden within the tech we use every day, from cell phones to vintage talking toys.

With Bitspeek, you can transform any audio input by extracting pitch, volume, and formant data, and then resynthesizing it using its unique oscillator, noise, and filter architecture. Whether you're after the charm of retro speaking toys or the sophisticated sheen of modern vocoder effects, Bitspeek bridges the gap effortlessly. Despite its minimalistic interface, the plugin is equipped with versatile playback parameters, allowing you to tailor the pitch and tonal quality to suit your needs. Plus, its MIDI capability and beat-synchronized "formant freezing effect" offer unprecedented control over your vocal manipulations.

Designed for both Windows and macOS, Bitspeek integrates seamlessly with your existing setup, supporting a range of host applications through VST 2.4 and AudioUnit 2 formats. Whether you're a producer, sound designer, or artist, Bitspeek is your ticket to creating vocals that captivate and inspire.

Key Features:

  • Real-time pitch-excited linear prediction codec effect
  • Audio analysis with pitch, volume, and formant data extraction
  • Resynthesis using oscillator, noise, and filter architecture
  • MIDI support and beat-synchronized formant freezing
  • Compatible with Windows 7 or later and macOS 10.13 or later

Sonic Charge Bitspeek review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Sonic Charge Bitspeek is a delightful plug-in that offers a wide range of robotic and lo-fi sound design possibilities. With its intuitive controls and unique retro vibe akin to the Speak & Spell toys of the late '70s, it's a must-try for those seeking a fresh take on vocal processing. The ability to sync frame rate and use MIDI pitch control adds to its versatility. However, it doesn't support chord playing, which might be a limitation for some users. Overall, Bitspeek is a fun and affordable tool for anyone looking to explore new sonic territories.

Review: BitSpeak by Sonic Charge : Ask.Audio

ask.audio

Bitspeek by Sonic Charge is a niche yet creatively potent plug-in, transforming vocals into nostalgic Speak n' Spell voices with authentic linear prediction coding. The standout feature is its MIDI control, allowing for pitch manipulation and autotune-style effects, along with real-time time-stretching and pitch-shifting capabilities. While not a universal tool, its low CPU usage and unique sound make it a valuable asset for imaginative producers, particularly at a modest price of $29.

SonicCharge Bitspeek review: Speak and Spell! - AudioNewsRoom (ANR)

audionewsroom.net

Sonic Charge Bitspeek is a quirky yet delightful plugin that infuses a robotic charm into vocal audio, reminiscent of a Speak and Spell. It's an affordable tool that offers playful experimentation with its simple interface and MIDI capabilities. While it excels in producing monophonic vocal effects, those seeking a full-fledged vocoder might find it limited. Despite a slight latency and lack of polyphonic support, its niche appeal and fun factor make it a steal at its unchanged price of €33. Perfect for those chasing unique vocal textures akin to Thom Yorke's iconic sound.

crazy sonic fun

depending on what kind of sound you apply this too the results can be beautiful or unlistenable . however that is more a criticism of my noises than the app . It is uber fun . Russell :)

Retro vocals!

Pretty cool for when you need a retro-sounding vocoder effect. Cool for all sorts of styles and sees a lot of popular use in Dubstep :).

I like this, but I can't find much use for it except minor vocal edits, like I'll activte it at 50% power, but it's nice

"There are a lot of vocoders out there, but this one has a beautiful tone and unmistakable crunchy edge, like if Stevie Wonder was a Speak & Spell. You can hear it on the bridge of my song "Desolation" (and you can compare it with the other very normal vocoder that also punctuates that song)."
