It's a Walkman.
Mine plays ever so slightly lower pitch than it's supposed to, but otherwise it's your run-of-the-mill Walkman. Not the best of the Walkman's (Walkmen?) to come or preceeding, but it's usable.

I had the first one.... it was hella expensive and my parents wouldn't get it for me so I begged it off a grandparent. Still have it somewhere. I'm pretty sure that original Walkman rolled a bit slow too...

Great for getting lo-fi sounds
Expecially if you use low-quality tapes. Made a bunch of tracks with these things and they get me that old cassette sound instantly.
Artist usage
Add artist
"Liz Harris, the woman behind the experimental ambient project Grouper, is the least recognizable act in this article, but anonymity is a component of her music’s allure. Harris crafts sparse loops of her voice and guitar into lush worlds populated with echo via her RC-20XL and a cavalcade of Walkmen for natural tape decay. Seated onstage with her guitar in lap and effects at her feet, Grouper illuminates an audience with shadows, dreams, and a throng of distant voices, all coming from a single source."
