Trevor Gray, Apollo 440 "The Korg Legacy is so much fun!! We've owned the original Korg MS-20 since the 70's and used it with our Korg SQ-10 analogue sequencer on loads of records and remixes. Nothing quite sounds like it! We also love the MS2000R which has a smoother sound and MIDI-accurate sequencing possibilities. But the Legacy got us to dig out the old Patches we'd written over 20 years ago! The sounds we've put in the MS-20_Apollo440 Bank includes some of these, as well as brand new sounds and edits of library patches. That's the point with this great new piece of kit - you can get your hands dirty really easy! Edit ready-made programs or start from scratch. The controller feels just like the original and going back to patch cords was so cool! We hope you enjoy these sounds - and if you haven't got a Legacy then what are you waiting for - just get one!"more
Not the best synth in the world but still a very good one. One of it's biggest selling points is the modulation. There are tons of diffeent way to express yourself musically or non-musically with this synth. The step sequencer makes this baby all the way amazing. The fact that you can give each OSC it's own sequence on an old synth lets you know it was ahead of it's time. The sound quality is above average but not the best. That depends solely on your creativity though.Combine it with Ableton live and you'll have truely unique productions.
Perfect board for studio, and great as a live vocoder. My only gripe is that the inputs are on the top. I understand that as a desktop synth, that's the most convenient place for them, but really sucks for rack mounting.
