If you do not have a hardware distressor, GRAB THIS!
As a musician who's just started doing studio quality recordings at home, I've always found the need for budget-friendly solutions to recording guitars, vocals, and many other instruments. One of many items I always needed for mixing and mastering was a distressor which helps to compress the audio signals into something that has a lot of clarity and punch. Thanks to Mr. Glenn Fricker who introduced many, including myself, to this plugin, I wasted no time grabbing this extension.
For a digital distressor, this thing sounds amazing. I currently use it mainly for compressing the vocals in a 4:1 ratio and it does the job very well. The tracking is done very well with very little to no latency and the controls are very responsive. If you were to present a completed audio mix to a typical music listener, you could definitely use this in place of a hardware distressor if you don't have one already. And for the price of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, this is my main go-to for compression plugins.
If you do not have a hardware distressor and you need one for your music projects, GRAB THIS! This will save your life. I'm not quite sure if it's worth keeping it for a lifetime, 'cause I know hardware compressors will sound much more organic, but at the price point in the market, you just can't go wrong with it.
