The Ronnie Montrose Signature amp is a bit of a collector piece.

Built like a tank and weighing in around 4.5 kilos. It’s a solid state amp that stays clean up to 10 o’clock and then starts to kick in some distortion. The birds egg blue cab is painted rather than tolex and has a few chips in it.

The Big Industries hangtag is still on the aluminum handle and has some wear to it. On the back of the cab, the word OASIS is biro'd on it.

Montrose was an American guitarist who led the bands Montrose and Gamma but did killer work with everyone from Herbie Hancock and Tony Williams to Boz Scaggs and Sammy Hagar. If you’ve never heard his playing, seek it out.

Buyers from outside the UK, please be aware that the power on these pieces are setup for 240 V operation.

All items in this shop come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Noel Gallagher.

Developed in collaboration with Montrose. He mentions it in this January 1995 Vintage Guitar interview.

I’ve also been doing design and consulting work with Big Industries on an amp they’ve built. It runs on a nine-volt battery and it looks like a work of art. It weighs about ten pounds and has a six-inch speaker. It sounds really great and it’s loud. It’s called the Ronnie Montrose Signature model. So I’m keeping busy and still having a good time.
