In an article by Matt Parker for MusicRadar, it's noted that Robert Fripp uses the BOSS FV 300L volume effects pedal to control the final output levels from his Switchblade system. This setup allows him to manage audio in stereo, quad, or even a six-channel mix, giving him comprehensive control over his sound distribution.
In this photo, which was taken at the 2008 Journey concert (full album can be found here), one of the pedals visible in Schon's pedalboard is the Boss FV-300L.
According to LA Sound Design, the Boss FV 300L was added to Tim Mahoney's overseas touring rack replacement board.
"The board is set up so that he can run a Volume pedal and Nova Delay in the loop of his Dist amp and a Volume pedal, Nova Delay and Nova Reverb in the loop of his clean heads in stereo. A custom power supply was built as well as the custom interface with Jensen ISO transfromer. Tim will use this along with his giant board in front of the amps."
