Silky smooth, incredibly positive grip surface, amazing build quality!
This is probably the most robust volume pedal I've ever encountered. The build quality is insanely good, and the metal band operating mechanism feels miles ahead of over volume pedals who use strings and pulleys.
The size is a bit on the large side, but that's okay - when you need to mute yourself without stabbing at the tuner, you can step back on this bad boy and you'll be quiet almost instantly.
When doing volume swells, it's absolutely perfect. No catching, no dragging - just seamless operation!

Super volume pedal
I use passive guitar pickups so I always look for high impedance models when browsing for volume pedals. I have a big foot so I like big volume pedals as I feel more comfortable with them, this is larger than the DVP3 that I had before and feels indeed much better. Compared to other big high-impedance volume pedals I had: it’s much more stable than the Boss FV-300 and FV-500, it’s much more solid than the Ernie Balls, it’s much more comfortable than Korg's XVP-10.

“As someone who has been using volume pedals for many, many years and always searching for something better, here it is! The Dunlop Volume pedals are exquisite. They are extremely linear, sonically transparent, and tough as nuts. I love and use both versions! The expression version is great in the studio also, because it has a low impedance input perfect for after FX and I can insert it into the FX send and returns on my console, DI box, line amp, mic amp, etc. and it works beautifully. Done deal.”
