You CAN'T consistently differentiate the Topanga's Spring Reverb from a genuine Fender Reverb
If you spend a lot of time with spring reverb pedals, you'll eventually pick out the nuances that differentiate them from true, organic spring reverb that only a spring box in the amp's chassis can supply. The Catalinbread Topanga is one of the very, very rare exceptions to that rule.
When I switched from a Fender DRRI to a Bassman, I thought I'd be missing the spring reverb that the DRRI supplied. After acquiring the Topanga, I haven't looked back.

Only thing missing is actual springs
I was in a band for a few years where the guitar sound I was aiming for was a cross between surf guitar and shoegaze- and this helped nail it. It's got all the drips and plunks you would want from a spring reverb, minus the tank.

A very nice "always on" pedal.
This was suggested to me by someone at Chicago Music Exchange. I tried it and it's a very versatile pedal that I can dial to such a tone that it's there but it's not overly noticeable. It's an always on pedal that I plan to move from the pedal board (which only has what I turn on/off) to the amp. This is a very good pedal.
