Description
Discover your sound's true potential with the Walrus Audio Slö Multi Texture Reverb. This pedal offers three distinct reverb modes: Dark, Rise, and Dream, each designed to inspire creativity and transform ordinary notes into atmospheric masterpieces.
The Dark mode infuses your reverb trail with a lower octave, enveloping your sound in a deep, wide sonic landscape. Rise mode is an auto-swell reverb that gently builds in volume after you play, creating beautiful, cinematic textures. And with Dream mode, you're offered a lush reverb with an infinite sustain to craft floating pads and ambient layers.
The Walrus Audio Slö isn't just about creating stunning reverbs — it's about control. With the momentary footswitch, you can create bursts of reverb on demand, adding texture to specific notes or phrases without overwhelming your entire signal. The Sustain switch gives you real-time control over the reverb decay, while the selectable Trails mode lets you choose whether the reverb decays naturally or cuts out instantly when bypassed.

Great ambient reverb with a hugely disappointing flaw
First things first, all three reverb modes are incredibly beautiful and (you guessed) dreamy. The modulation settings and parameters make this a deceptively complex pedal and also take it from being a very nice sounding one trick pony ambient pedal to a very weird and “out there” pedal with a lot of character.
As much as I love this pedal, it has a deal breaking flaw. Regardless of whether you set it as buffered or true bypass, the pedal will add background noise, and a lot of it. I go to great lengths to make my board as quiet as possible so this was an instant dealbreaker. Walrus says this is due to the internal chip used (FV-1) so this has nothing to do with amp, cable or pickups used. Overall, a sad turn of events and an issue that I do not see often brought up for an otherwise excellent ambient reverb.

An Ambient Masterwork
Walrus Audio have an uncanny ability when it comes to reverb. Other companies make stellar reverbs, of course, and not everyone is after outrageous, ambient sounds. But that is most certainly what I'm after, and from the Descent to the Fathom to the newer Slo, Walrus delivers in a way that makes me feel a little cold towards other manufacturers. The Fathom can be used for some fairly basic sounds & makes a great workhorse in that sense, but the Slo dives right into the deep end, and all the better for it. Endless ambient possibilities lay before you inside of this pedal, and I've thoroughly enjoyed exploring them all.
Fantastic pedal, ambient dream machine
This pedal has become an integral part of my songwriting process, and has been a cornerstone of "my sound".

Amazing characterful reverb, excellent for enormous atmospheric sound beds
Huge (and I mean HUGE) modulated reverb, capable of sustain and reverse effects and it has a really "noir" dark-mode.
Too bad it's not stereo, I think this is fine for guitars ( I do not have a stereo rig) , but I also use it for synths. Maybe I need two...

Absolutely phenomenal
My favorite reverb. I also love the Afterneath but the Slö is just so beautiful. I keep it on as often as possible

Post Rock In A Box!
If you’re a fan of super ambient/textured bands like Sigur Rós, Slowdive, Daughter, This Will Destroy You, Explosions In The Sky, etc. this pedal is for you! It’s literally “post rock in a box” and is really geared towards anyone looking to add an a ambient reverb. It’s easy to use and sounds amazing! Just check out the YouTube demos and you won’t be disappointed.

Great Ambient Reverb
I love the pedal, particularly the dark mode with the sub octave and the infinite latch in the dream mode.
