Description

Experience a new dimension of musical expression with the Clavia Nord Electro 2 73-Key Keyboard—your ultimate ally in achieving authentic and dynamic soundscapes. This versatile instrument offers a stunning emulation of traditional electromechanical keyboards, making it a top choice for discerning musicians who demand both quality and versatility. With its 73 velocity-sensitive semi-weighted waterfall keys, you’ll enjoy unparalleled playability that captures the essence of your performances.

At the heart of the Electro 2 is its meticulously designed organ section, based on a digital simulation of the iconic B-3 organ's mechanical tone wheels. It features complex digital modeling that accurately replicates classic B-3 sounds, including the original chorus and vibrato effects, delivering a rich and authentic auditory experience. The innovative LED bar graphs and up/down buttons replace traditional drawbars, ensuring precise control and immediate visual feedback with each preset change.

The piano section is equally impressive, housing a collection of carefully multi-sampled electric pianos and an acoustic grand piano, allowing you to explore a wide range of tonal possibilities. The multi-sample technology captures every nuance of your performance, from the softest whispers to the most powerful crescendos. Complementing these features, the Electro 2 includes a USB interface for seamless updates and a flexible effects section featuring a rotary speaker simulation for added depth and texture.

It had to be better

Bought because of its very good Rhodes emulation, I've been disappointed by the Hammond emulation: too "plastic" and "perfect", where a real tonewheel is "live" and with uneven characteristics. Good leslie emulation. The acoustic piano definitely unusable for me. The waterfall keyboard action good for the organ, but definitely too light for the rest (how to overcome this?)

Great electric piano and organ sounds. Can also do experimental music if you tweak the ring mod and phaser controls to the max.

61 key...but that's none of my business though.

I actually own the electro 2 61 key...but I didn't want to go through the hassle of setting up that keyboard. Honestly this is one of the best keyboards around, it's definitely geared towards the more electro mechanical sound of things. So anything like the Rhodes sound will be impressive. The piano sound is bad, however it's not the best thing either. Either way I love this piano.

Really good midi controller!

This keyboard is a bit dated (2002) and the sounds are not really good! But the construction is amazing and as a midi controller, it is very good! Every knobs/buttons can be assigned and it's easy to change midi channel on the fly.

Great Electromechanical Sounds

Excellent Wurlitzer electric piano, Hammond and Clavinet sounds. Good Fender Rhodes and piano sounds. Rotating speaker effect is quite good.

"With the Shakes, I have a pretty sweet right now. They recently bought a road-worthy B3 that has folding legs and fits into a road case. So I usually have that and a Rhodes and the Nord Electro. The Electro i normally use for just piano sounds unless the Rhodes is having issues, which happens from time to time."
