Description
The Crews Reunion accurately samples the essential elements of the 1964 ES model, while adding numerous customizations to enhance playability. The neck, in particular, has been carefully balanced to balance thickness and playability, taking into account the effect that thickness has on the tone. The neck side treatment, fingerboard, and neck set, as well as the neck angle, strength, and contact surface, are all designed without any vintage aesthetic in mind. This results in more sustain than a vintage replica, and better tension balance in both the low and high positions compared to a vintage guitar.
What's the difference between Reunion and Reunion II?
The Reunion and Reunion II differ in some areas, such as the body shape and paint specifications. Currently, all specifications have been shifted to the Reunion II. From 2024, the paint was changed to a lacquer finish.
About Reunion
The body is made of plywood rather than solid maple. This suppresses the resonance peaks that are a characteristic of large semi-acoustic guitars, while adding a softness reminiscent of vintage instruments to the powerful sound of maple. When you play, you'll notice that the entire body sounds familiar from the moment it's new. And with continued playing, the sound will develop into an even softer, more expansive sound.
The pickups are Cruise's original CL & CL Plus. Modeled after vintage PAF pickups, they aim for a clean sound with a core and body. The bridge pickup's coil turns have been slightly increased to enhance the mid-low range rather than boost output. While each pickup's character is distinct, the output balance is easy to handle. The humbucker sound is unobtrusive yet sensitive and powerful. From jazz guitarists to rock guitarists, it's suitable for any genre.
The machine heads are Kluson-type KEY'STONE GSS-DLX (brass post pegs). The brass posts enhance the brass's unique overtones and sustain, enhancing its acoustic characteristics. Their acoustic sound and resonance make them highly sought-after as stand-alone components. WCR also features double parallelogram fingerboard inlays, creating a truly elegant look.
The toggle switch uses a Crews Closed Toggle Switch, which operates at a lower amperage than typical commercially available switches, reducing electrical resistance and signal loss at the contact points, allowing the instrument's original sound to be transmitted.
