Dimarzio Steve Morse Bridge Review DP200

tonejourney.com

The DiMarzio DP200 Steve Morse Model Bridge delivers a powerful punch with its articulate, bright tone that's perfect for rock and metal. It excels in producing crisp highs and tight lows, ensuring clarity even at high gain. However, some may find it lacks the warmth and body that other pickups provide, potentially leaving a gap for players seeking a fuller sound. While it shines in achieving the signature tones reminiscent of Steve Morse's work, it may not suit every player's preferences. Overall, the DP200 is a solid choice for those wanting a versatile, high-output humbucker but might require some tonal adjustments to fit specific setups.

According to DiMarzio's website, Morse uses his signature Bridge Humbucker.

In collaboration with DiMarzio, Morse has designed two signature humbuckers; the DP205 and the DP200 Bridge & Neck models. Their EQs are evenly balanced to allow even sound while playing all over the fretboard, this is due to Morse's style of playing high notes on the neck pickup and low ones on the bridge. They're also the main pickups manufactured into his Ernie Ball MM signature model, and aswell DiMarzio custom wires single coil pickups for EB MM to use in the middle positions of the SM signature models, these single coil pickups are not currently mass produced.
