DLS Effects RotoSIM Pedal Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The DLS RotoSIM pedal impresses with its authentic Leslie speaker emulation, offering essential features like horn intensity, independent rotation speed, and ramp time control. Its stereo output enhances the experience, providing lush, convincing rotary effects. While the built-in overdrive can be harsh at high gain, it's decent for adding grit. The RotoSIM's versatility is bolstered by internal trim pots for further customization, making it a strong contender for those seeking a realistic rotary effect without hauling a vintage Leslie cabinet. However, those with roadies may stick to the real deal.

musicradar.com

The DLS RotoSIM impresses with its classy sound and user-friendly interface, offering a plethora of adjustment options and lovely tones. While the pedal boasts a boutique build quality, it does come with a matching boutique price tag. For those willing to invest, the RotoSIM delivers authentic rotary effects with separate controls for rotor levels and a genuine overdrive feature. A standout for tinkerers, the pedal offers additional internal adjustments for further customization. Overall, a great choice for musicians seeking premium rotary effects in a compact, well-crafted package.

Pretty cool Rotary Speaker Simulator

Sounds like a rotary speaker, I love the ramp up and down, maybe a little dark for my taste, but kind of transparent so stays out of the way as well. I don’t really use the drive section.

“The last pedal I incorporated, because I try to keep all of this real simple, is the RotoSIM for a Leslie effect, a bit like a Rotovibe.

“A friend of mine got some deal with this pedal company and they gave me this big box of pedals. I didn’t really need delay or anything like that in this band, I just wanted another colour. I didn’t even know what a Rotovibe was… but this was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. If I’m not kicking in distortion or reverb, this is what it’ll be!”
