Origin Effects Magma 57 Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

Origin Effects' Magma '57 delivers mesmerizing vibrato and rich drive tones that are both immersive and addictive. Its robust build quality matches its sonic capabilities, showcasing a thoughtful design that caters to vintage enthusiasts and modern players alike. However, the limitation of not being able to use the vibrato without the drive might frustrate some users. Despite the steep price, it can effectively replace multiple pedals, offering great value for those who prioritize quality and versatility. Overall, it's a compelling choice for serious guitarists looking to enhance their sound.

Origin Effects MAGMA57 Review | GuitarPlayer

guitarplayer.com

The Origin Effects Magma '57 stands out as an exceptional pedal that captures the essence of vintage Magnatone amplifiers, combining a true vibrato circuit with rich, nuanced tones. Musicians seeking authentic lower-gain sounds will appreciate its impressive tonal range, from clean jazz tones to smooth overdrives, all while benefiting from its robust build quality. However, the steep price tag might deter some players looking for a more budget-friendly option. While it excels in character and articulation, those craving high-gain saturation may find it lacking. Overall, the Magma '57 is a worthy investment for discerning guitarists.

Review: Origin Effects Magma57 & RevivalTrem

guitar.com

The Origin Effects Magma '57 serves up a robust blend of vibrato and overdrive, showcasing a distinctive, rich tonal palette that could easily justify its steep price. Its high-quality build and versatile modulation options impress, particularly the three-mode vibrato that rivals dedicated pedals. However, it’s not without flaws; the bypass switching feels clunky, and the modulation can't be engaged independently of the drive. Despite these drawbacks, the overall sound quality and performance earn the Magma '57 high marks, making it a worthy investment for serious musicians.

guitarworld.com

Origin Effects' Magma '57 delivers a stunning homage to vintage Magnatone amps, capturing the essence of their vibrato effects beautifully. Its three versatile modes provide a rich, watery vibrato, reminiscent of classic sounds, while the build quality is top-notch. However, the price tag of $459 may deter some, as it leans on the expensive side. Despite this, the pedal's unique offerings and craftsmanship make it a worthy investment for players seeking authentic vintage tones.

The best true vibrato ever

Got addicted to vibrato after hearing Sturgill Simpson’s Magnatone amps, which led me to this incredible pedal. Never looking back. It’s the best, most wobbly vibrato I’ve heard, and it’s all analog.
