Review: Dunlop SC95 Cry Baby Classic Slash Signature Wah and MXR SF01 Slash Signature Octave Fuzz | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

The Dunlop Slash Cry Baby Classic Wah SC95 is a standout pedal offering multiple wah tones, thanks to its custom-wound inductor and smooth pot. It delivers baritone, midrange, and treble wah effects with ease, making it versatile. The pedal shines with single-coil pickups or light-to-medium humbuckers and maintains a balanced sound with both clean and dirty amps. The addition of blue LEDs ensures visibility on stage. While the review is overwhelmingly positive, it notes that the pedal is ideal for those seeking nuanced wah effects across various musical styles.

Dunlop SC95 Slash Cry Baby Classic review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Dunlop Slash Cry Baby Classic Wah Wah SC95 stands as a rock guitarist's delight, shedding unnecessary features for a classic, streamlined experience. This wah pedal, embraced by Slash himself, removes the seldom-used onboard distortion, offering a more traditional and effective design. Its cool, faux-worn exterior and practical blue on/off LEDs are standout features. Tuned for a lower frequency, it excels in delivering a powerful tonal range ideal for rock. However, its limited suitability for funk styles might deter some. Overall, if rock is your realm, this pedal is a strong contender.

Such a bargan

I've tried many wahs like gcb or signature models of dunlop and vox, this one fits me better for its lower frequency and detailed sound which is very friendly to humbuckers and distorted sound. What's more, the LEDs are very useful when you don't know whether is it on. BTW, it's not expensive, I got this one for the price only about $90.

The ultimate Wah

I never wanted to use any effect within my rig...until I listened more caryfully to Slash, Jimmi Page and Brian May. So, this Wah is a essential part of my rig scince I started to play more professional. It hast a perfect sweap and boost even without intensive footwork, and adds a bit of colour within every song I use it.

It was my 3rd wah

I got it because it looked nice and at the time I was going through a GNR phase. Use it on our cover of Sweet Child Of Mine.

T

cheaper and better than the other slash model

recommended if you like a throaty, nasely wah and true bypass

“The Wah Wah pedal, you know, is probably the one effect that I use the most consistently. The thing about me and a Wah is just something that’s really pure sounding and has a really great sweep. You know, from like low to high it’s just got this really nice sweep to it. And so we worked together for years on the Wah Wah pedal and we finally have this simple Wah Wah pedal that just sounds amazing.”
