Description

Meet the Vox V847 Wah, a modern twist on the classic wah-wah pedal that defined rock music in the 60s. This updated version maintains the iconic VOX wah tones that inspired music history's greatest names, while incorporating enhanced dynamics and functionality for today's discerning guitarists.

The V847A is an authentic recreation of the unmistakable VOX wah sound that has shaped generations of music. Its redesigned inductor brings the pedal's specs closer to those of the original model, featured in countless hit records. Regardless of your genre, you'll marvel at the V847A's ability to slice through a mix with a dramatic, vocal-like sweep.

The V847A also boasts improved dynamics and sonic performance, thanks to an added input buffer that prevents impedance loading of your guitar signal. This ensures your natural tone stays intact even when the pedal is disengaged. The reengineered inductor provides an enhanced dynamic range and frequency response, equipping the V847A to handle everything from rhythm playing to blazing solos with ease.

Beyond its impressive sound, the V847A is built for the road. Its durable die-cast aluminum housing, foot pedal, and potentiometer are designed to withstand the demands of gigging musicians. The inclusion of an AC power jack allows for worry-free performance on stage or in the studio. Plus, a convenient carry bag is included for easy transport and protection of your V847A between gigs.

Key Features:

  • Authentic VOX wah tone, inspired by the 1960s original
  • Redesigned inductor for closer specs to the original model
  • Added input buffer to preserve guitar signal
  • Enhanced dynamic range and frequency response
  • Durable, road-ready construction with die-cast aluminum housing
  • AC power jack for stage or studio performance
  • Includes convenient carry bag

Critic Reviews

Vox V847 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Vox V847 Wah pedal stands as a legendary choice for guitarists, offering a beautiful build and finish that speaks to its esteemed heritage. Its tonal similarity to the Jim Dunlop Cry Baby is noted, yet the V847's chrome finish sets it apart visually. While the pedal's weight ensures stability during play, the switch requires a bit more force, which some may find cumbersome. Additionally, improved battery access would enhance usability. Despite these minor drawbacks, the V847 delivers a smoother pedal mechanism compared to many wah pedals, making it a solid, reliable choice for musicians.

Great with Griffin Effects modification kits.

Vox V847 Wah pedaal met Griffin Effects modification kits.

V847 Wah Q Control Mod Kit Adds a knob to control the vocal quality. This allows you to reach more McCoy vocals and is good for controlling your wah when it gets out of hand when using gain pedals.

V847 Wah Sweep Switch Mod Kit A switch to add more bass to the sweep of your wah so you don't loose the bottom end anymore. This is great for bass players also.

V847 Wah True Bypass Mod Kit True bypass and a 5mm LED. No more loss of tone or guessing if your pedal is on or off.

Good exterior built, but the interior leaves much to be desired.

The pedal is extremely sensitive to radio wave interference. In fact, switching the pedal on doesn't get me the "wah" effect as much as it gets me the weather and traffic report from the local radio station. There is a way around this- either spend time and money lining up the pedal with a buffer to halt the radio waves in their tracks, or return the pedal altogether.

It's not as though the potentiameter gives you much room for an exaggerated wah, anyway. It's subtle as is.
