Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Dwarfcraft Devices Necromancer.

Features and functionality

  • The Necromancer offers a tight and articulate fuzz with a grinding mid and high presence, especially with EQ on and mid switch off.

    Source
  • The built-in EQ section provides +/- 10dB, crucial for boosting volume levels due to the inherently quiet Super Fuzz circuit.

    Source

Comparisons

  • It combines the characteristics of an FZ-2 and an Op Amp Muff, providing a unique blend of tight fuzz and a grinding midrange.

    Source
  • In shootouts, the Necromancer was favored over several Muffs, EQD Hoof, Death By Audio Fuzz War, and Way Huge Conquistador for its versatility and tone.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • Running the pedal into an amp on the edge of breakup maintains tightness in palm mutes without becoming muddy.

    Source
  • Owners find it inspiring for creating new riffs and solos, making it a creative tool as well as an effect pedal.

    Source

User experience

  • Owners appreciate its control over midrange tones, making it ideal for achieving a Converge-esque sound, more so than an HM-2.

    Source
  • The pedal excels when used with passive pickups, as it doesn't perform well with active pickups, potentially causing volume and noise issues.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

  • It’s recommended to power the Necromancer on its own, avoiding shared power supplies or daisy chains, due to potential noise problems.

Dwarfcraft Devices Necromancer Fuzz - Effects - Harmony Central

harmonycentral.com

With a ferocious fuzz sound that's both versatile and grin-inducing, the Dwarfcraft Devices Necromancer is a spellbinding pedal for fuzz enthusiasts. Its powerful three-band EQ and user-friendly layout make it a standout, while the unique design adds visual flair. Although the lack of glow-in-the-dark graphics and a bit of noise at certain settings might disappoint, the Necromancer's ability to deliver everything from classic 70s tones to heavy 90s grunge more than compensates. A must-try for those seeking a fuzz pedal with character and charm.
