Critic Reviews

LTD Alexi-200 Review | ESP | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The ESP LTD Alexi-200 scores well as an entry-level metal guitar, featuring a sleek design and reliable hardware. Its Thin U shaped neck and jumbo frets cater to speed enthusiasts. While praised for its durability and decent tonal range, the stock pickup lacks the punch some players expect, suggesting an upgrade to boost gain. Overall, it's a solid choice for those seeking a Rhoads-style axe without breaking the bank, but purists might crave more power.

LTD Alexi-200 Review: i love the tone, tho more gain could be there. | ESP | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The ESP LTD Alexi-200 is a solid choice for those seeking a budget-friendly Rhoads-style guitar, especially for fans of Alexi Laiho. It shines in technical death metal and thrash genres, thanks to its fast neck and mid-heavy tone. However, the guitar's setup out of the box might disappoint, with issues like fret buzz and a lackluster volume knob response on overdrive channels. While it’s dependable for live play, some musicians may crave more gain. Overall, a decent instrument with room for improvement, particularly in its action and finish.

Fantastic and well made guitar!

Being a Children Of Bodom Fan and owning one of these is a pleasure!

Although when i first got it, the floyd rose was a pain and went out of tune quite a fair bit.

once set up professionally and properly, the tuning stability and playability of it was excellent!

it has a super fast U shaped maple neck which is what i prefer with the style of music i play ( i normally don't get on with maple but i quickly fell in love with the neck on this)

Beautiful Rosewood Fingerboard, the pickup which is a ESP LH-301 p.u. is surprisingly good for a stock one and even though i prefer seymour duncans and EMG'S, it instantly grew on me!

Good Solid intermediate guitar

This guitar sounds great with and without distortion and feels quite comfortable and well. The only issue is that it is hard to play advanced techniques such as sweeping and tapping. Awesome looking, and hard to sit with. My volume control is kinda loose but I probably made it happen by accident. Stays in tune decently. I am enjoy this guitar a lot.
