Description

The Faith Mars Mahogany is a testament to the art of acoustic guitar craftsmanship, merging traditional design with modern advancements. This drop-shoulder dreadnought is rooted in the Patrick James Eggle 'Kanuga' tradition, offering a balanced sound profile that appeals to both seasoned players and newcomers alike. Its top is crafted from kiln-aged Sitka Spruce, utilizing a meticulous torrefaction process that brings out a rich, mature tone typically reserved for guitars decades older. This process not only enhances the acoustic properties but also imparts a captivating golden hue.

The Mars Mahogany's body is complemented by African Khaya Mahogany and elegant two-piece Rosewood for the back and sides, delivering a robust and resonant sound. The guitar's aesthetic is further elevated with Flamed Maple bindings and a Figured Ebony fingerboard and bridge, ensuring each piece is both visually striking and tonally superior. Unique to this model is the solid Figured Ebony pickguard, a first in Faith Guitars' history.

Equipped with Fishman's FLEX-BLEND preamp system, this guitar provides a versatile sound experience. The innovative system combines an undersaddle piezo pickup with a condenser microphone, allowing for a harmonious blend of acoustic and amplified sound. With discreet controls, including a built-in tuner and EQ contour control, players can tailor their sound with precision.

Faith Mars FRMG review | MusicRadar

The Faith Mars Mahogany delivers impressive craftsmanship and a tidy finish, showcasing a well-balanced tone ideal for rootsy rock rhythms reminiscent of classic bands. Its long sustain and bright sound make it versatile for both strumming and fingerpicking. However, it does have a slightly toppy sound profile and lacks an electro-acoustic version, which may deter some players looking for on-stage versatility. Overall, it's a solid option for guitarists seeking quality at a reasonable price, especially for those who appreciate a traditional dreadnought feel.
