Description

Immerse yourself in the warmth and resonance of the Martin 000-15 acoustic guitar, a beautiful ode to vintage music-making. Crafted with an all-mahogany body, this instrument produces a robust, woody tone that lends a rich, balanced sound to your melodies. Despite its compact size, the 000-15 is capable of generating a surprisingly bold voice, thanks to its solid mahogany top, back, and sides.

The 000-15's design features a stylish morado fingerboard and bridge, providing a striking contrast to the mahogany body. Known for its smoothness and speed, the morado fingerboard is perfect for intricate fingerpicking styles. It's also comfortable for players with smaller hands, courtesy of its 1.75" nut width.

Committed to quality, Martin incorporates premium nickel tuners with butterbean knobs in the 000-15, ensuring excellent tuning stability. These vintage-inspired tuners, along with a dovetail neck joint and mortise and tenon body construction, highlight Martin's dedication to craftsmanship.

As an added bonus, a protective softshell case is included with your purchase of the 000-15, providing essential protection for your instrument during transport and storage.

    Source
  • The Martin 000-15's mahogany top is described as having a mellow tone, lacking the projection and sparkle of a spruce-topped guitar like the Gibson Hummingbird.

    Source
  • The 000-17 is described as more resonant and well-rounded than the 000-15, with clearer individual notes when strumming due to its scalloped bracing and bone pins.

    Source
  • The 000-15 is likened to a BMW sedan, with a refined and balanced sound, while Gibson dreadnoughts are compared to diesel trucks for their powerful projection.

    Source

User experience

  • Owners frequently mention the 000-15's warm, thick tone, ideal for those who prefer a darker sound profile.

    Source

    Source

Value and pricing

  • In Norway, the 000-15M is priced at $1950 without a case, illustrating regional price variations.

    Source
  • The 000-17 is noted to be priced significantly higher than the 000-15, leading some owners to consider sales or discounts to justify the upgrade.

    Source

Build quality

  • The 000-15M's finish is prone to visible "dandruff" on the headstock, indicating a potential cosmetic maintenance concern.

    Source
  • The 000-15's finish darkens with use, allowing owners to visually track their playing hours, as seen in the fretboard and body wear.

    Source

Mods and upgrades

  • Switching to medium gauge 80/20 bronze strings can enhance volume and brightness to counteract the mahogany's natural mellowness.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • The 000-15 is favored for fingerstyle blues due to its compressed, mid-range focused tone, which differs from the expansive sound of a dreadnought.

Martin 000-15M Guitar Review with A.J. Rodriquez

worshipleader.com

The Martin 000-15M guitar shines with its solid mahogany construction and warm, balanced tone, making it a favorite for studio settings and songwriting. A.J. Rodriquez appreciates its comfortable playability and excellent action, though notes the high E-string can occasionally stand out. While it may lack the projection of a Dreadnought for larger venues, its focused sound and aesthetic appeal make it a versatile choice for intimate performances and recording sessions. Overall, the guitar is a great blend of style and functionality, particularly suited for those who appreciate a warmer, more nuanced acoustic sound.

Martin 000-15M acoustic guitar review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Martin 000-15M acoustic guitar impresses with its simple, yet striking design and exceptional tonal clarity. It boasts a balanced sound profile that complements vocals well, making it a versatile choice for musicians. Its construction features solid mahogany throughout, contributing to its robust and resonant sound. The guitar's playability is enhanced by a well-set action and a slender neck profile, appealing to a wide range of playing styles. Despite lacking decorative frills, it maintains an aesthetic elegance with tasteful details like East Indian rosewood and ebony components. While lacking the sheer power of larger guitars, the 000-15M delivers a refined, articulate sound that impresses across genres. A strong contender for those seeking quality craftsmanship without unnecessary embellishments.

Very versatile.

Beautiful balanced sound. Typical mahogany dark sound, but very well balanced and clear as well. Trying this guitar for the first time it was love at first sight (and ear).

joy_robin_whitley

Great sound from a small guitar.

The size makes it great for songwriting in cramped spaces.
