Description

The Fender Bassman 100T Amp Head is a harmonious blend of vintage charm and modern ingenuity, making it an ideal choice for both stage and studio settings. This 100-watt all-tube beast carries the legendary Fender bass sound, wrapped in iconic Blackface aesthetics reminiscent of the mid-'60s era. The dual-channel design offers a versatile tonal palette, with a vintage channel that exudes the warm, rounded essence of a classic Fender passive tone stack, and an overdrive channel that brings the aggressive clarity of a modern active tone stack. Whether you're dialing in for a soulful groove or a punchy rock riff, this amp head adapts seamlessly.

Fender's Automatic Bias technology is a standout feature, ensuring your tubes are always performing at their peak. This system automatically monitors and re-biases the tubes, alerting you when maintenance is needed, so you can focus on your performance rather than technical upkeep. For recording enthusiasts, the XLR output delivers rich, overdriven power amp tones, perfectly capturing the live feel in a studio setting. The power switch lets you toggle between full 100-watt power, a quieter 25-watt setting for intimate gigs, or silent recording through an internal power soak.

Key Features:

  • 100/25 watts switchable power; all-tube design
  • Two footswitchable channels: Vintage and Overdrive
  • Fender Automatic Bias for optimal tube performance
  • XLR output for direct recording with power amp tone
  • Impedance switch (8, 4, or 2 ohms) for flexible speaker compatibility
  • Included footswitch for easy channel switching

Fender Bassman Pro 100T Amplifier Head Review : Heavy Weight - Audiofanzine

audiofanzine.com

The Fender Bassman 100T Amp is a love letter to tube enthusiasts, offering a warm, vintage sound that appeals to both amateurs and professionals alike. Its vintage channel is simple to use, delivering high-class tones, while the overdrive channel requires more experience to master. However, this amp is not without its drawbacks: it's heavy, expensive, and the logistics of transporting it can be daunting. The lack of Speakon connectors is also a letdown. Despite these challenges, for those willing to invest time and effort, the Bassman 100T delivers a nostalgic yet versatile sound.

It's a super tube amp.

Maybe the only problem is the amp can struggle volume-wise in some situations. You will need to pair it with a very efficient or large cab to make the most out of its;s 100 watts. But the amp really sounds sweet has 2 foot-switchable channels and the overdrive is great, you will prefer it to most pedals. Also, this amp is an awesome recording tool as it has a 25-watt and silent mode.

Sounds amazing. 4 stars for now because I haven't gigged with it yet.

Versatile, all tube sound. Amazing vintage and overdrive channels. Overdrive channel, which you can blend in with the vintage channel, is awesome for punk. No overdrive pedal is needed. Punchy, sensitive, can get clean and clear on highs, but always feels super tubey. This amp makes you want to play. I love that it has a 25 watt setting as well as silent record. These are rare features on tube bass amps.

Now, unlike prior Bassmans this is purely for bass guitar. I tried it with my guitar(s). Way too bassy and boomy for guitar, even a drop C guitar. Also, do not silent record with guitar. It will overheat the heat sink very fast.

The autobiasing takes a few minutes and doesn't seem to stop until you move out of Standby mode. Then give it about 15 seconds and it's good to go.
