Critic Reviews

Head-Spinner: Behold the Splattercaster | GuitarPlayer

guitarplayer.com

The Fender Splattercaster is a delightful surprise, boasting playability and sound quality that rivals even the American Standard line, all while sporting a strikingly unique paint job. For just $300, you get exceptional craftsmanship, featuring a one-piece maple neck and versatile pickups that deliver warmth and punch. However, the rarity of this model has led to rising resale prices, now between $750 and $1,000, which might make it less accessible for budget-conscious players. While its aesthetic might not appeal to everyone, those who appreciate a bold design will find a high-quality instrument that stands out in any collection. Overall, it’s a solid choice for guitarists looking for a blend of character and performance.

4 stars stock, 5 after an electronic swap

A great MiM at is core, but with a really cool unique paint job. I have the White/Black/Gold/Silver, and it looks stunning! The stock pickups never really worked for me, so I swapped them out for 2 Carvin AP11s and a Carvin SH60 twinblade in the bridge, with an Emerson blend wiring kit, and it is perfect!

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Swap the pickups to your favorite, and have the coolest guitar on stage!

Basic strat, not-so-basic paint job

It plays like any other MIM strat, but the paint job is different on every single one. They were made in several different color combinations, and each done in a splatter-painting thus rending every guitar different.
