Description
The Fender Stratocaster American Deluxe HSS Black is where classic Fender craftsmanship meets modern innovation. Perfect for guitarists who crave the versatility of a humbucker but don’t want to stray too far from the iconic Stratocaster sound, this guitar offers an impressive balance of tone and style. Its sleek black finish is complemented by a contoured alder body, providing not only an eye-catching aesthetic but also a comfortable playing experience for any genre.
What sets this model apart is the inclusion of the S-1 switching system, which expands your tonal palette with a single push of a button, allowing for seamless transitions between sonic textures. The combination of two Fender Noiseless single-coil pickups and a powerful humbucker in the bridge position makes it an ideal choice for those who refuse to compromise on sound quality. Plus, the unique "Passing Lane" switch instantly boosts your lead lines by bypassing the tone circuit and routing your signal directly to the humbucker, ensuring you cut through the mix when it matters most.
The neck features a modern “C” shape with a satin finish, offering smooth playability and effortless navigation across the fretboard. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a budding enthusiast, the American Deluxe HSS Black delivers a rich and dynamic sound that’s unmistakably Fender.

Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Mahogany Black headstock
I have the limited run of this guitar for either Musiciansfriend or the Guitar Center. It has a nice dark red mahogany body with a black head-stock which I think is pretty cool. The mahogany body makes it a little heavier however it's not that noticeable to me. It's got the diamond humbucker in it which is OK. I'm thinking about swapping it out but not sure yet (any suggestions???) since the guitar is new to me. The play-ability of the guitar is what you would expect for a fender although I'm not getting that nice strat sound out of the neck PUP...could be my current setup so I need to play with it. Overall I like the feel of the guitar, the action is nice and I like having the best of both worlds with the HSS config. I'm not sure if the LSR nut has anything to do with it however there's a noticeable difference while bending. It seems to provide more feeling than what I'm used to. It would be interesting to see what others on this website say about the LSR nut since this is the first time I played a guitar that has one. That's it for now.

one of my friends had the exact guitar you own, I thought it looked sexy as heck, but the slim neck and the pickups really rubbed me the wrong way... dude sold it after copious modifications when he got hip to fatter necks
