Critic Reviews

Function f(x) Clusterfuzz Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

Function F(x) Clusterfuzz is a ferocious fuzz pedal with a remarkable tonal range that takes a classic design and offers new versatility. The pedal is built solidly, featuring a soft-touch relay footswitch and running on battery or standard power supply. Its core sound is loud and aggressive, thanks to high-gain transistors, but offers a wide array of tones with dual tone controls and a five-way diode switch for varied clipping options. The "8-Bit" control adds a unique broken fuzz character, making it a playground for those who appreciate brutal and expressive fuzz tones. However, it’s not for the faint-hearted or those seeking smooth distortion, as its aggressive nature is ever-present. Overall, the review is positive, especially for players who value raw power and tonal exploration.

THE BEST FUZZ

I love this pedal. I always keep the clipping selector switch set to LED as I think that is the best sounding of the options. Depending on the setting of the 8-Bit knob, this can go from medium OD/distortion to super chewy, velcro ripping, video gamey fuzz. More than enough volume as compare to other fuzzes that tend to have to be turned up higher for unity with clean signal.
