At 6:32 in this video of the making of Nothing Else Matters, James says the following and is seen playing the Gibson EDS 1275.

“It got fun actually for a little while in the studio experimenting with things. I would try out a bunch of different shit, you know. Certain amps, like old thing Supro that Jimmy Page was using, and shit. Some 12-string stuff, you know, sitar thing on “Wherever I may Roam.” That’s just the cool thing about guitar, you can kinda go wild.”

Zakk has at least two of these, one white with the stock pickups, and other originally blank now with a mirror front plate and EMG pickups.

More recently, he also acquired a black and white bullseye EDF-1275.

In this photo from a concert in Flint, Michigan, 23.8.1967, Pete is playing his custom EDS-1275. According to this article from Gibson "Townshend was using a black EDS-1275 6/12 to play 'Substitute' live. He even maimed that guitar – there are photos of Townshend in 1967 at London’s Saville Theatre with the 6/12 guitar, obviously rebuilt, as the necks are at splayed angles and a there’s clearly visible repair in the body between the necks."

In Premier Guitar's "Rig Rundown - Coheed and Cambria's Claudio Sanchez & Travis Stever," Claudio Sanchez's guitar tech Kevin Allen demonstrates a Gibson Custom Shop EDS-1275 Double-Neck Guitar, used exclusively for the song "Welcome Home." The guitar is customized with Seymour Duncan JB pickups in the bridge positions of both necks and has had a knob replaced, while the rest of the instrument remains stock.
