Round-up: 4 brutal 7-string electric guitars | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Ibanez RG1527 is a versatile 7-string guitar that stands out for its tonal flexibility and solid construction. While the Ultra neck is not as fast as the Wizard profile, it still supports speedy techniques. The guitar's V87 bridge pickup adds bite, and the ability to isolate inner coils provides a glassy rock sound. However, it lacks the depth and muscle found in guitars with EMG pickups. Priced at £949, it's a robust option for players seeking more than just chugging, but it doesn't quite reach the top tier in this competitive roundup.

This thing is awesome.

My first seven-string, and I don't think I'd be completely off to say it's probably going to be my favourite for a long time coming. It's super versatile, plays so smoothly, and that added functionality of the 7th string really pushes me to improve. It's incredible. Only thing lacking are the pups. I might swap those out sometime in the future, but they're not excruciatingly bad, just not too great.

Great MIJ Ibby

Great guitar for the price, plays better than most hi end prestige guitars these days. Stock pickups suck, so change those out and you are great.

I have an Ibanez RGD 1527 which is now my backup gutiar. It’s basically an older version of the 2127 but mine is pretty beat up after so much touring.
