Korg Krome synth workstation review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Korg Krome 73 shines as an affordable synth workstation with a vast sonic palette and excellent live performance capabilities. Its standout features include acoustic and electric pianos, a responsive color touchscreen, and a deep sound engine. Musicians will appreciate its DAW-like MIDI editing on the touchscreen and its substantial sequencer, though the lack of dedicated octave shift buttons and keys that don't sense aftertouch might disappoint some. Despite a boot-up time of about a minute, the Krome sets a new standard in entry-level workstations, making it a top choice for both gigs and home studio use.

Pretty powerful keyboard.

The Korg Krome is a pretty compact and powerful keyboard workstation. There are many possibilities with the Combi section. Decent piano and EP sounds. The keyboard action isn't that great and the texture of the keys leave a lot to be desired. The keys on my Krome just have this nasty greasy feeling, ever since I opened it out of the box.

Great sounds, lousy construction

This was to be my go to single board for duo/trio work; however less than one year in I had to replace a a key bank on the left side of the keyboard, and subsequently have other keys that are wobbly. Poorly made for the live musician though for studio use the sounds are great for a workstation at the mid price point.
