Korg Triton Extreme

soundonsound.com

Korg's Triton Extreme impresses with a wealth of features and a surprisingly affordable price point. Its massive waveform ROM, USB connectivity, and Valve Force circuit offer unparalleled versatility and sonic depth, ideal for both studio and live settings. The 160MB of ROM and dual USB ports make it a powerhouse, overshadowing its Triton predecessors. However, the sample RAM is limited to 96MB, and the new blue finish might not appeal to purists. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Triton Extreme's enhanced sound capabilities and competitive pricing make it a formidable choice for musicians seeking a robust workstation.

Reminds me of a Vin Diesel movie

This keyboard really does remind of a short section of the first Triple X movie he made. There was a scene where he said " I want everything in " anyway, I find that this work station has "everything in" maybe that's why they called it Triton Extreme. I also added the Moss board, which I am delighted to say I got for free from Korg. It does everything and is my other main board. Samples, sequencers, arpeggiator, splits, combinations ( like the Kurz set ups ) programmes. It's extremely flexible. Pianos sound great, although if I'm honest I prefer my Kurz for them, really there is every kind of synth and keyboard sound you can think of, it's also got a live section so you can tweak on the fly, and programme too. The sounds are all very high quality and useable, I haven't come across one I don't like yet. You can create your own programmes and combinations too and save them to a memory card. The RAM is also, upgrades le which I also did and there's a small but useful ribbon controller too.
