After he brought his PRS SC245 back from Phillip McKnight for the series Sharpen My Axe, the LPD Sixty 8 Deluxe Overdrive pedal just dropped out from the box. And it's a gift from Phil to him.

Honestly, it’s an incredible pedal. Very versatile, and very powerful sounding. You’ve probably heard this before, but it’s like a Marshall stack rolled into a little pedal! In fact, I much prefer the sound of the Sixty 8 Drive to that of amp overdrive, which is saying a lot. Also, please know I’m not just saying this to flatter you, I truly think it’s an amazing pedal. It can also double beautifully as a fuzz if you put a boost before it. I was actually using it with my valentine this morning, which has both a single coil and humbucker, and I think it works very well with both. The treble and bass eq is fantastic as well. It’s the perfect pedal for both searing leads and for adding bite to your rhythm playing, and I just really think you’ve created something amazing! I definitely want to use this pedal more often. I think it’s easiest to get a Marshall sort of sound out of the pedal, but with the right eq-ing and using the neck pickup I was able to get some really nice, smooth Santana-ish tone as well, which speaks to its versatility!
