Description

The Maton EBG808 is a sterling example of craft meeting innovation. This acoustic-electric guitar is designed for the discerning musician who values both tonal precision and aesthetic allure. As part of the orchestra model family, the EBG808 is celebrated for its rich, resonant sound, which is largely attributed to its premium materials and expert construction. The solid AA spruce top combined with solid Australian Blackwood back and sides deliver a warm, balanced tone that is versatile enough for a range of musical genres.

The intricate herringbone rosette and top detailing hint at its exquisite craftsmanship, making it as much a visual delight as an auditory one.

Equipped with the Maton AP5PRO pickup system, this guitar ensures crisp, clear amplification, making it an excellent choice for live performances. With a scale length of 648 mm and a nut width of 44.1 mm, the EBG808 is engineered for comfort and ease of use, whether you're strumming away in a cozy setting or projecting your sound to a larger audience. Modified Maton EBG808 is Barnett's main acoustic guitar. It is modified and an one-off; Maton refers to it as "CB-808", although it's not an official signature model. As explained in 2021 Guitar World interview:

“They built it for me. So I think it’s my own little personal design,” says Barnett. “I just pointed at two guitars that were on the shelf and said, ‘Can I get something in the middle of this?’ It was mainly the [combination of the] color and the shape. Nothing too extreme.” A customized 808 – a shape unique to Maton that comes up a little smaller but much deeper than an OM – it has a triple-A spruce top with Blackwood back and sides, along with custom binding and rosette. It’s all finished in Vintage Amber Stain. “I love it,” says Barnett. “It's just so simple and sounds so beautiful.” Though it’s not available as a signature model, Maton tells us they refer to it as the ‘CB-808’.

In a 2022 interview with Guitar Player, Barnett mentions that her Maton 808 was used for "thickening up guitar parts" on 2021 album "Things That Take Time, Take Time".
