Introduction from the Mesa 1995 Catelog - The Solo Head is aimed straight at gain. How do you want it, vintage, or modern? There's one channel of each. Or, if you want two different vintage sounds, no problem. Likewise for two seperate settings of ugly modern aggression. Simply reconfigure the voicings using channel cloning(patent pending). All this top-fuel horsepower runs mean in two mean dosplacements. Fire up the Standard 100w Dual Rectifier with four 6L6, and two 5u4 lineup. Incorporates patented switchable Rectifiers. The tube Rectifier is elastic, and boasts natural compression. Bluesy, and warm. The Silicon Diodes emphasize attack, keeping the bottom tight, and percussive. Who says you can't have your pie, and eat it too!

Introduction: From the Mesa Boogie Rectifier guide. REV G*

-Revision G is the classic Rectifier sound that most of us think of when referencing the Rectifier Series: big, robust low end with loads of gain and volume to back it up. Used by a wide variety of artists such has Rollins Band, Sublime, Soundgarden, 311, Jeff Buckley, Foo Fighters, Pennywise, No Use For A Name, and many many others.

The Revision G began life with a small logo before transitioning to a large Mesa badge, about a thousand amps into the run. Also featuring a Parallel FX Loop, tolex covered headshell and beginning in 1997 a detachable power cord.

By the time 1994 rolled around, you could not turn on the radio at any time of day without hearing this amplifier for the rest of the decade. As Nu-Metal came into popularity in the late 90's, the Rev G was embraced by Linkin Park, Disturbed, Limp Bizkit, Creed and many more.
