Slept on little monster
So I recently traded in my EvH 5150 LBXII Head and Panama Cab for this combo at Bills Music in Catonsville MD. Fantastic Combo In my opinion. 50 Watts definitely helps with headroom, the high wattage Eminence Designed speaker punches above it's weight class and the EL34 power tubes gives this amp a very rich Marshall flavor. Both Channels are super useable and a master volume on both respected channels allows you to get crunchy and overdriven tones easily without having the cops called on you. The lead channel is very JCM800ish but smooth around the edges, its a bit more refined. The clean channel has all the sparkle and jangle of a very well loved plexi and the reverb on the amp isn't too overbearing. The amp itself is a bit on the heavy side but not as heavy as a lot of combo amps of this size and wattage. The effects loop is great and gives you the option of line level or instrument level. Can't say enough good things about this amp, only used it so far at home and at my band's practice space but it holds up much better than my previous amp and has more than enough headroom for me and my pedals. Big win here all the way around, don't know why these amps never took off but I'm glad I got my hands on one. These amps are also very amp-tech friendly, easy to bias/repair and replace stuff. If you are in the market and see one out in the wild for a good price, definitely jump on it. Will handle just about any gigging scenario and has enough features stock you could literally start gigging with it (if you have the footswitch mind you).
