Description

The X-AMP 500 Series Active Reamp® Module by Radial Engineering

The Radial X-Amp 500 is a high-quality active Reamp® module in the 500-series format that lets you take a recorded line-level track and send it back to guitar amplifiers, pedals, or other instrument inputs with proper impedance and tone control. Built with 100 % discrete Class-A circuitry and transformer-isolated outputs, it delivers clean, low-noise conversion from balanced line level to high-impedance instrument signals. Two independently controlled outputs let you drive and experiment with dual amps simultaneously, and dedicated features like ground lift and a 180° polarity switch help eliminate noise and check phase relationships. It’s a practical tool for producers and engineers who want flexible reamping workflows to sculpt tones after tracking.

Specs:

• Format: Standard 500-series module (fits any VPR-compliant rack)
• Circuit Topology: Discrete Class-A electronics with transformer-isolated outputs
• Function: Active Reamp® device (balanced line level → high-Z instrument outputs)
• Inputs: 1× balanced XLR line input
• Outputs: 2× transformer-isolated ¼″ high-impedance outputs (OUT-1 & OUT-2)
• Output Controls: Independent level knobs for each output
• Phase & Noise Control: 180° phase invert switch on Output-2; ground lift switches to reduce hum and buzz
• Optional Omniport (with compatible Workhorse rack): Hi-Z guitar input via Omniport for instrument-to-module routing or ABY splits
• Frequency Response: ~20 Hz to 20 kHz (guitar-tailored) with broad usable bandwidth
• Distortion & Noise: Very low distortion (<0.002 % THD); transformer isolation reduces noise and ground issues
• Power: Supplied from host 500-series rack rails (≈ 40 mA @ ±16 VDC)
