Description
The Mother MkIII is an 50w, 100w or 200w Tube Amp by Science Amplification hand-build in the USA.
.....and comes in 2 Versions: A no-frills high-headroom single channel version and a dual channel version with additional Gain and master Loudness controls for it's 2nd, wide range higher gain channel.
The Mother is still equally accommodating for bass or guitar.
The Single Channel version features only Channel A from the dual channel model, great for a pedal platform.
This single channel version goes from clean to vintage crunch with plenty of headroom for even the most towering fuzz and distortion pedals.
The tone is clear, but never fizzy.
The Dual Channel version adds a second wide range channel that takes the tonality of Channel A, and keeps on going into higher levels of saturation, from edge-of-break-up, to crunch to crushing gain with dynamics intact. In addition to the Mother's wide spectrum of gain, its EQ is equally wide ranging.
The flexible EQ section begins with the unique 4-position rotary Depth knob, which sets the overall bass extension, low-mid voice, and low-end breakup characteristics in the front end of the amplifier. From there, the interactive 3-band (Bass, Middle, Treble) EQ sculpts your tone.
The bass shapes the lows voicing set with the Depth, and the unique mid control goes from completely scooped to vocal midrange.
The Treble controls the overall high-end, and for further control of the amplifier's upper-harmonic content, the Absence shapes the the tone from present and searing to dark and fogged-out.
And finally, the front panel's Loudness control(s) transparently varies the overall volume of the amp down to bedroom levels without sucking your tone.
The Mother MkIII is available in 50W, 100W, or 200W, and can be fitted with the optional ultra-transparent series Ghost effects loop.
