Critic Reviews

Sensomusic Usine Hollyhock II review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Sensomusic Usine Hollyhock II is praised for its unique and powerful modular capabilities, allowing musicians to easily patch together music and lighting systems with over 400 modules. The software's user-friendly interface and extensive performance tools make it both fun and efficient for live interaction. However, it loses points for being limited to 32-bit on Mac and lacking audio manipulation for video tracks. Despite these drawbacks, Usine Hollyhock II remains an inspiring tool for experimental musicians, with potential for growth through downloadable add-ons. It’s a solid choice for those looking to explore modular environments.

Sensomusic's Usine Hollyhock II dazzles with its versatility and depth, offering a rich toolkit for live performers across diverse musical backgrounds. Its modular design and seamless integration with various controllers, including Leap Motion, are standout features. While it's not a full-fledged DAW, its complex sequencing capabilities and user-friendly routing make it a powerful asset for live performances. The software shines with its customization options, yet suffers from minor drawbacks like occasional reactivation requirements and limited video audio management. Despite these, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, as reflected in the review's high rating and personal endorsement by the reviewer.

Big potential but difficult to take control.

Good mixing between Reaktor, max MSP and Ableton Live. Intended for the live show, also it manage the Artnet/DMX protocole for the light show.
