I miss them
I was able to get the Damocles set in a Spira V500, and I really miss them. I was getting closer to the sound I wanted; at least I had a great foundation. But the V500 just didn’t work for me at all. My guitar tech had cut the pickup wires very short, so I had to part with the set along with the guitar—since I’m not at all handy, I didn’t want to take any chances. I feel like we’re in the same sonic philosophy as the DMT Ascension, but with more clarity, presence, balance, and compression. The highs are crisp and the mids are present but not nasal. In my opinion, these active pickups have very few flaws. If you love heavy palm mutes and well-articulated shredding, these are for you. I’d personally get them again...
