SPL Transient Designer 2

soundonsound.com

The SPL Transient Designer 2 impresses with its ease of use and ability to shape sounds intuitively, making it a must-have for dynamic processing. Its all-analogue design excels in enhancing or softening percussive elements without the complexity of traditional compressors. The simplicity of the controls belies the vast range of adjustments possible, though a built-in limiter would be a welcome addition to manage enhanced peaks. Ideal for producers seeking to inject life into drum tracks or craft dance music, this device is both accessible to novices and powerful for seasoned engineers. Despite its few shortcomings, it stands as a versatile and musically satisfying tool.
