Lovely piano-like weighted keyboard for an affordable price
This studio master keyboard is really nice for every type of piano player. The best for his price. The only negative thing is the software: you won't get anything but a software editor for the keyboard. No sounds, no discounts for some plug-ins. If you don't have any instrument or DAW on your PC, you gonna get buy one!
....hands-down the best 88-key weighed keyboard for the price.
For $400 this is the best 88-key weighted keyboard controller out there! (OK, so its not quite as good as a 'Kurzweil" keybed), but it is the next best thing, responsive, stable and light. The main plus is its ease of configuration using either the on-board color LED screen or (better) using the on-screen GUI, app to do it, ....and having jacks & provision for 3 switch controls and 1 expression pedal. I also decided to get the optional laptop shelf for my laptop (good move).
Amazing, especially at this price point
This thing feels like a tank, even though it's very light as far as keyboards go. It's got a nice metallic build, great feeling semi-weighted keys that surpass cheap real pianos, and 3 pretty cool mod joysticks. It's nice and simple, and doesn't have tons of pointless buttons, faders, pads, etc... The value for cost is incredible, especially considering it's 100% "Made in Italy".
I only have two problems with it: The firmware appears to be slightly buggy: I've sometimes needed to restart the device as it was freezing my DAW (which unfreezes as soon as it's switched off), and the OOB sustain pedal feels quite cheap (even if it still feels solid) compared to the rest of the keyboard. The first problem could get fixed in the future by a firmware update, and as far as the pedal goes, it's still perfectly usable: just less nice to use than the keyboard is. If you are a pianist, you may want to invest into a real piano-like sustain pedal.
